Our large multinational Electronic manufacturing client in Newmarket, ON is currently seeking an experienced Test Development Engineer responsible for developing Functional and System level test strategies and solutions for power electronic ac-dc converter/conditioner products for low and medium power applications in Automotive, Industrial, and Smart Energy segments.

The successful candidate will be highly organized, energetic and work well in a fast-paced team environment that requires taking initiative and managing multiple priorities.


Develop production test strategies based on product design specificationDesign and develop test solutions including both hardware and software elementsInvolvement in all areas of the development process, including creating test plan, software development,hardware development, system integration, procurement, qualification, and installation support for manufacturingDevelopment support for multiple production facilities globallyTest process optimization, with a focus on productivity improvements to cycle time and yieldIntegrate tools and code developed by other internal groups or external customersDebug of solutions using design of experiments, tools, and failure analysis methodologiesCollaborate with a highly experienced engineering team to review and provide input on development designsApply a continuous improvement mindset to all aspects of the development processOccasional travel and global site support may be required


Bachelor of Applied Science or Engineering in ElectricalMinimum 5-7 years of engineering development and manufacturing operations supportMinimum 3-5 years of test development experience, including National Instruments LabViewAbility to learn new software coding languages and custom code deploymentsOperations background (electronics manufacturing experience preferred)Software design, development, debug and releaseHardware development, integration and qualificationInstrumentation automation, driver development knowledgeSome programming experience with other languages is considered a bonus (Python, C++, C# and .NET, etc.)Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environmentDetail oriented, strong organizational skills and time management skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with internal and external clients
