Senior Project Manager

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Project Manager located in WINNIPEG, MANITOBA, for a REMOTE Contract opportunity. Our ideal candidate has 7 years+ of experience for Senior Project Manager Opportunities in Disaster Recovery. The Senior Project Manager will champion work under the guidance of the PMO Manager in coordination with the team members and the Technology Group at our Clients Location. Leveraging their extensive experience in Senior Project Management and Disaster Recovery and collaborating with the Project Teams, including external parties, to manage and developSenior Project Management methodologies.

Senior Project Manager Responsibilities include:

For mid-size projects of moderate complexity, leads and manages the project team, with the authority and responsibility to run the project on a day-to-day basis.
Applies an appropriate level of project management processes and controls to the project using generally accepted frameworks (ex. PMBOK®) and methodology principles (ex. PRINCE2™).
Defines and documents the objectives for the project, determine budgetary requirements, the composition, roles and responsibilities and terms of reference for the project team.
Manages the project through project planning, development, implementation and deployment, ensuring that the project deliverable meets acceptance parameters and the overall project meets time, cost, quality and success criteria.
Manages the project budget, schedule scope and quality within approved project tolerances and ensures formal project change control is applied if needed.
Reports progress of the project on an ongoing basis and at scheduled points in the life cycle to the project's sponsors.
Manages project issues and risks, including the development of risk response plans.
Working in conjunction with the respective resource manager oversees the performance of team resources.
Conducts an end-project evaluation and prepares the project closing report.
Same responsibilities as the Project Manager but for larger, more complex, and/or more diverse types of projects.
Additionally, has had the responsibility of coaching more junior project managers.

Senior Project Manager Qualifications:

Excellent interpersonal and listening skills.
Excellent analysis and problem resolution skills.
Excellent leadership, team management, planning, organizing, negotiation, facilitation, and decision-making skills with cross-functional multi-department teams.
Excellent communication skills; oral, written and presentation.


An undergraduate degree in Business Management, Engineering, Computer Science or other demonstrated relevant degree;
A college diploma with a specialization in project management
A certification in project management (ex. PMP®, PRINCE2™), or equivalent credentials such as a Master's Certificate in Project Management.
7 years of experience and responsibility for all aspects of project management, including but not limited to the creation and management of project deliverables such as the stakeholder analysis, project charter/PID, schedule, budget, risk plan, quality plan, and status report
Experience in information technology-related projects
Includes a background in applying structured organizational change management practices (ex. PROSCI, Kotter).
