The SAGD Operator job, based in Northern Alberta, is a full time 6 month contract position with our O&G Operator client. To be considered for the SAGD Operator role, you will have at least five (5) years of previous experience specifically in SAGD operations. A 3rd class power engineering certificate is required. This is a rotation-based position with flights from Calgary or Edmonton, AB and camp accommodations provided.

Responsibilities of the SAGD Operator job include:

- Labelling of piping systems and vessels as per P&ID and AES labelling convention.
- Air blows of the operating systems; following the air blow procedures.
- Gather oil production and water samples and perform chemical tests to ensure addition of treatment chemicals is effective
- Update plant log book to identify any conditions that may affect the safety of the Plant and a strong personal commitment to a safe, clean workplace
- Performing Lockout/tag out procedures, issuing safe work and hot work permits
- Training of junior operators as needed
- Reporting inefficiencies and unsafe working conditions to Operations Team lead
- Participate in commissioning activities of process equipment
- Perform duties such as water tests, log sheets, equipment rounds, lock out tag outs


- 5 years of previous experience in a SAGD facility
- 3rd class power engineering certificate is required
- Turnaround experience would be an advantage
- Strong communication skills and excellent safety record
