Our client in St. John’s, NL is currently seeking an experienced Researcher to add to their team. The Researcher will be responsible for conducting basic theoretical, experimental, scientific and technological investigation directed toward the acquisition of new knowledge. They will work closely with business units to discover, develop, and deploy cutting-edge technologies.

As there will be no LOA, accommodations, or relocation reimbursement provided for this role, local candidates are preferred.

Responsibilities of the Researcher job may include:

Collaborate with other scientists and research technicians as a member of a cross functional team to create and utilize advanced techniques to discover, develop and deploy new technology
Ensure successful project/program completion and implementation as defined by the research science leadership
Provide timely and accurate information and status updates to research leadership
Areas of research may include oil spill response technologies, environmental genomics, remote sensing, air emissions monitoring, and acquisition of new knowledge

Researcher Job Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Marine Science, Molecular Ecology, Bioinformatics, Toxicology or a closely related field is required
Minimum 10 years’ experience in laboratory work, analytical chemistry, field sampling coordination, techniques and strategies
Previous experience with applications in data visualization, data driven forecasting, statistical data analysis, optimization algorithms, machine learning, and petrophysical models required
Strong problem-solving and numerical analysis skills
Able to adapt to tight and changing deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
