We are in search of to fill an Pipeline Project Manager Job opportunity in Calgary, AB. The successful candidate will fully responsible for all aspects of the pipeline delivery including HSESR, Cost, Schedule, design intent, constructability, construction, operational efficiency and reliability, Mechanical Completion, Commissioning to Start up, Initial Pigging, and project close out. This role is a long-term contract role with an estimated 2 years of term.

The Pipeline Project Manager Responsibilities are:

• Collaborate closely with the Program Manager to ensure that project objectives are well understood.
• Lead development of and stewardship to Project Execution Plans, cost estimates, schedules and KPI’s.
• Ensure stewardship to the cost estimate and schedule in accordance with relevant Project Execution Plans.
• Ensure the project is appropriately staffed with the required skilled and competent personnel.
• Supervise and provide guidance to Pipeline Team.
• Appropriately manage contracts and contractors while promoting guiding principles and programs around health, safety and environmental practice.
• Oversee pipeline project governance activities including; technical execution, cost performance, scheduling and reporting functions in accordance with Governance, Project Delivery Standards, and quality management framework.
• Implement corporate quality and safety standards into the project and ensure compliance with project plan and procedures.
• Promote appropriate communication exchanges with internal and external stakeholders and manage stakeholder expectations through effective dialogues.
• Manage multiple priorities and deliverables simultaneously, focusing on completing them within the parameters of established performance metrics (KPIs), contractual agreements, permits, etc.
• Ensure regulatory compliance.
• Implement and manage a robust management of change process to project scope, budget, resources and schedule through effective documentation and communication.
• Manage 3rd party expert review of the entire pipeline project.
• Accountable for all phases of project delivery, handover to operations and close out.
• Collaborate with internal projects teams concurrently executing projects and all internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, driving accountability and ensuring that all parties are effectively contributing to the success of the project.
• Provide leadership and expertise along with technical assistance at the worksite.
• Serve as the company's representative responsible for continuous field supervision, coordination, and completion of work.

The Pipeline Project Manager Qualifications are:

• P. Eng. – Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 – 15 years in major onshore pipeline projects
• Background as a Project Engineer / Project Manager with experience in pipeline engineering and construction, project controls, construction, front end design through detailed design and execution, construction, commissioning, start up, and contract management.
• Experience in the upstream oil and gas industry, particularly in Western Canada.
• Proven project management skills with a demonstrated track record of success in pipeline projects, ideally supported with relevant industry accreditation.
• Proven ability to manage projects that have competing challenges and timelines and complex technical, permit and construction issues (HDD, slopes, access restrictions and so forth).
• Strong background in both the EPC and E&P industry involving project development and execution.
• Experience with different project execution contract and cost models.
• Experience in contract formation development and negotiation.
• Focused and proven ability to lead and align team objectives with project drivers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution, negotiation and leadership.
• Genuine team player who will encourage teamwork with the project team plus other discipline staff.
• Sound planning and decision-making ability in a faced-paced and continuously changing work environment.
• Be familiar with industry standard quality & safety systems and principles.
• Familiar with CSA Z662 and ASME B31.4 and 31.8 codes and related standards.
• Ensure that methods of work are up to date, efficient and in accordance with client and company safety policies, provincial and local Health and Safety regulations.
• Advise the Construction and/or Program Manager on any desirable changes in methods of work or on work practices and controls.
• Maintain the daily performance and goals in a project. Coordinate work efforts and ensure activities are sequenced correctly.
