The Project Engineer job, based in Calgary, AB is a long term contract position with our client. To be considered for the Project Engineer role, you must have 10 to 20 years of project engineering experience within the petrochemical industry, including experience managing 3rd party subcontractors. A Professional Engineer (P.Eng) status is required, and a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities of the Project Engineer job include:

- Participate in Invitation to Tender development, bid evaluation, and subcontractor selection processes
- Identify and source equipment
- Provide Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) contractor support
- Manage change requests and authorize and required changes
- Ensure successful completion of work scope with respect to project objectives
- Verify that design and construction is consistent with project requirements and appropriate standards
- Lead the Project Management team and act as an interface between the Project Team and subcontractor
- Resolve any issues as required


- 10-20 years of experience in a petrochemical project environment
- Strong technical background
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) is required
- PMP designation is considered an asset
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage time, multiple priorities, and budgets in a time-sensitive environment
- Previous experience managing 3rd party engineering and construction firms
