Production Supervisor (Metal Fabrication)

Roevin Engineering and Technology is currently searching for a Production Supervisor (different Shifts)for our client, to join their growing and successful team in Brampton and Mississauga. Our client is a leader in their manufacturing sector with operations across Canada, and the USA. They are a fully-integrated supplier of manufacturing and engineering services providing components and complex, high value-added assemblies for the agricultural, construction, mining, energy, heavy truck and industrial sectors. Our client is currently seeking a Production Supervisor and requires professional individual who has a keen sense for quality and urgency. Reporting to the GM, the Production Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all elements of production on the shift, including CNC Milling, Plasma and Laser Cutting and Brake Press forming – and will be accountable for meeting production requirements while also ensuring a safe and healthy workplace for all employees on the shift.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED – Production Supervisor

• 5+ years experience in a similar role (Supervisor or Lead Hand
• Metal fabrication manufacturing experience
• Completion of College Diploma or Technical Program
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Time management skills
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple demands
• Crane and Forklift certifications an asset.

RESPONSIBILITIES - Production Supervisor

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of employees.
• Interpret specifications and job orders to department employees and assigns duties.
• Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
• Analyze work orders in coordination with Production Supervisor, to determine production schedules.
• Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop.
• Analyze and solve work related problems or assists employees in solving work problems.
• Initiate or suggest plans to motivate employees to achieve department goals.
• Maintain time and production records.
• Confer with other Supervisors, as required, to coordinate activities.
• Provide orientation and training to new employees.
• Comply with requirements as outlined in the company handbook and the OHSA.
• Supervises all employee reports.
• Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
