Procurement Specialist

We are in the hunt to fill a contract Procurement Specialist Job in Calgary, AB. The ideal candidate will have a minimum two years of experience as a Buyer within the oil & gas industry, completed their Supply Chain Management Certification (SCMP or equivalent) certificate. The Procurement Specialist will be focusing primarily on the development and management of all risks/complexity levels of strategic commercial initiatives. The client is a renowned oil & gas producer.

This is a full-time contract opportunity with a schedule of Monday to Friday.

Procurement Specialist Job Responsibilities:
• Understand and forecast demand of goods and services related to their sub-category
• Validate commercial strategy as an input to the sub-category strategy and contracting plan
• Complete sourcing processes [go to market strategy, bid evaluation and selection criteria]
• Lead evaluation of, and develop recommendations, for the commercial structures
• Qualify and evaluate bidders as per bid evaluation criteria
• Develop negotiation strategy and lead complex negotiation
• Lead effective implementation and roll out of negotiated contract terms and conditions
• Lead change management process for contracts

Procurement Specialist Job Qualifications:
• Minimum of two years of experience as a Buyer
• Completed Post-Secondary education
• Supply Chain Management (SCMP) Certification
• Familiarity with materials and services in Oil & Gas
• Proficient in utilization of SAP and office suite of programs
• Analytical, numerically astute with strong demonstrated problem-solving abilities
• Able to work well under pressure and handle emergency and situations
