Our large Oil & Gas client in Fort McMurray, AB is currently seeking an experienced Sr. Metallurgy Engineer to add to their team. This contract position is responsible for supporting various business stakeholders.
As there will be no LOA, accommodations, or relocation reimbursement provided for this contract role, local candidates are preferred.
Responsibilities of the Sr. Metallurgy Engineer job include, but are not limited to:
- Development of fixed equipment and piping equipment strategies within the conversion, hydro processing and/or utilities business team
- Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure accurate equipment strategy development
- Ensure PESTRA database population and maintenance in coordination with Equipment Strategy Facilitator and other multi-discipline stakeholders
- Support Materials Engineering issues of running unit equipment on a day-to-day basis
- Overall development and support of Equipment Strategies
Sr. Metallurgy Engineer Qualifications:
- B.Sc. in Materials/Metallurgical Engineering required
- Minimum 5 years direct experience required
- Proficient understanding of industry practices and standards
- Previous exposure to PESTRA an asset
- Practical knowledge of diluent recovery, vacuum distillation, fluid cokers process units an asset
- Exposure to fixed utility equipment an asset (heat exchangers, vessels, boilers, etc)
- Able to work within a multi-discipline team
- Attention to detail is critical
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Must be able to successfully complete required pre-hire testing and Criminal Background check
