Materials Engineer Job in Fort McMurray, AB

Roevin is in the hunt to fill a Materials Engineer Job in Fort McMurray, AB. The ideal candidate will be a Fort McMurray local, have experience as a Materials Engineer on oil & gas projects. The Materials Engineer will be supporting our client's Material and Inspection Services Department. This is a long-term contract with a Monday to Friday schedule.

Materials Engineer Job Responsibilities:
• Provide technical support and oversight for engineers, inspectors, and analysts.
• Review reports and recommendations ensuring alignment with strategic and/or current business objectives.
• Provide materials engineering support for review of inspection results, repair recommendations both temporary and permanent, risk evaluation and safe work plan inputs.
• Coordinate with other technical disciplines on mechanical integrity issues, evaluate the effects of operational changes or upsets, remaining life evaluations, and decision analysis.
• Provide the required work direction for the Metals Lab in failure analysis.
• Provide oversight with respect to the quality of reports and investigations.
• Develop and oversee implementation of inspection programs and strategies (e.g. Key Inspection Program, special emphasis programs, defect management etc.).
• Ensure appropriate levels of risk and risk transition timelines are established for recommendations.

Materials Engineer Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor Degree in Materials/Metallurgical Engineering.
• Must be a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGA).
• 4-6 years of related experience required.
