Maintenance Planner

Our client is currently hiring a Maintenance Planner for their North Vancouver location. This is a permanent role. Our client is one of the leading industrial chemical service providers across North America. They are looking for an experienced Mechanical Planer that will estimate and plan the maintenance work schedules. The successful candidate will have a Mechanical Engineering, Millwright or Pipefitter background with 5-7 years’ experience in an industrial setting.


The Maintenance Planner essential responsibilities include:

Responsible for Developing work packages for maintenance work
Applies maintenance principals, concepts and practices related to maintenance planning, scheduling, coordination and optimization
Prepare, read and interpret technical drawings
Knowledge of Regulations relating to vessels, boilers and piping
Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations
Source, order, stage and kit parts and materials for planned maintenance work
Assist with task lists for repetitive work plans
Provide job feedback and make recommendations to improve future maintenance work
Assist with scheduling of planned work, based on work priorities and forecasted labor hours
Ensure regulatory compliance pieces are met
Conduct field inspections and assessments. Identify, propose and implement miscellaneous maintenance improvement opportunities as a result.
Complies with company policies, safety and environmental standards
Assists Maintenance Supervisor with preventative and corrective maintenance activities to achieve pant objectives
Prioritizes notifications and work orders with operations teams, analyzes and consolidates work requests
Ability to understand administration processes related to inventory control, procurement. and other purchasing procedures, including tendering and administration of requests, etc.
Advanced knowledge of the collection, evaluation and analysis of field data related to maintenance management, processes and infrastructure, and ability to recommend solutions


Maintenance Planner Job qualifications:

5-10 years’ experience working in an Industrial setting
Red Seal Journeyman Millwright or Red Seal Journeyman Pipefitter Designation Required
Maintenance Planner Certification/Designation preferred
Minimum 2 years planning experience with SAP
Minimum 2 years’ experience Applying maintenance principals, concepts and practices related to maintenance planning, scheduling, and optimization
Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, organize and carry out work with minimal supervision
Must be physically capable of spending long hours sitting in an industrial setting
Must be physically able to travel in all plant operating areas; including confined spaces, climbing stairs and ladders.
Must be able to work in an Industrial setting
Must be able to compete a “Fit for Work” test prior to starting work
Successful completion of an A&D test required
