Roevin is currently on the hunt for a Human Resources Advisor in Edmonton, AB. You will have 5+ years’ experience working in a Human Resources capacity within a Construction/Skilled Trades atmosphere. Human Resources Advisor Job responsibilities:

• Manage on-boarding and orientation of new employees ensuring coordination with multiple departments;
• Support effective employee/labour relations activities by maintaining a strong focus on customer service, knowledge of collective agreements, employment terms and relevant employee/labor legislation
• Provide coaching and assistance to managers regarding retention, performance management, and discipline for staff employees.
• Prepares, manages and attends full scope of labour relations: CA interpretation, Joint Labour Management Meetings, grievance process, arbitration and participates in negotiations.
• Facilitation and administration of terminations of staff employees
• Oversee HR activities to ensure all are in accordance with human resources policies and in compliance with Federal and Provincial employment and labor laws, acceptable practices and regulations.
• Participate in college recruiting efforts which includes organizing and attending Career Fairs to attract top talent and foster relationships with educational institutions across Canada;
• Provide general administrative support such as: creation of paper and electronic employee files, job descriptions, assignment letters, termination letters, employment verification letters, financial tracking, and filing;

Human Resources Advisor Qualifications are:

• Degree or diploma in human resources or educational equivalent;
• 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience in commercial or industrial construction;
• CHRP designation considered an asset;
• Prior experience working with an HRIS System
• Exposure or understanding of principles of lean thinking
• Experience with coaching teams in collaborative planning
• Experience with continuous improvement and change management
• This role will require some travel
