Our industrial client in Thunder Bay, ON is currently seeking a Shop Labourer. The Shop Labourer is responsible for providing support to the service department with inventory management, as well as assisting the maintenance department, as required. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience working in a maintenance shop, with experience operating a forklift an asset, but not requirement.  This is a contract position, with a work schedule of Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4pm.



  • Performs regular maintenance in the service department, which may include sweeping floors, emptying trash, and cleaning service vehicles
  • Shops inventory list on a weekly basis
  • Performs yard clean up and snow removal as needed
  • Conducts forklift inspections in accordance with organizational health and safety policies and procedures
  • Assists maintenance department as required
  • Operates all company equipment with due care and diligence
  • Shops inventory list on a weekly basis
  • Understands and adheres to all organizational health and safety policies and procedures and ensures the safety of self and others
  • Qualifications:

  • Completion of high school diploma
  • 1-2 years of work experience in an industrial shop environment
  • Comfortable with some physically demanding tasks, lifting up to 50lbs may be required
  • Some knowledge of mechanics
  • Forklift certification an asset, along with 1-2 years of experience
