Our client is internationally recognized as one of the most trusted leading designers and manufacturers of Thermoforming machinery and tooling. As the ideal candidate, you would be flexible and have the ability to adapt while remaining optimistic and focused when dealing with pressure, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles that warrent your attention and resolution.

Engineering Manager Responsibilities:

Oversees and directs engineering resources (internal and/or external) in the translation of agreed on design concepts into models and drawing packages suitable for production.
Ensures that the design process is collaborative, taking into consideration efficiency of production, technical and service considerations, while meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
Review and coach engineering resources to ensure timely, accurate and cost effective design packages are completed
Approve and sign off on final design and drawing packages.
Responsible for preparing budgets/estimates of project costs for all aspects of projects.
Responsible for resource sourcing, planning and management. Secure the appropriate skills in the required quantities to meet delivery commitments and budget
Responsible for ensuring on time, on budget deliverables.
Collaborates with other departments and outside resources to ensure projects are on time and on budget.
Continually improve systems and processes to provide better quality products and services.
Actively use and promote the use of the quality system within Engineering and throughout the company.
Responsible to eliminate waste, rework and inefficiencies caused by poor design and inaccurate drawings.
Takes responsibility for fulfilling your commitments and ensuring that the engineering team does well.
Establish clear, measurable goals for project work and employee development that supports department and company goals.
Coach and motivate individual team members to improve their contributions to company performance and productivity.
Ensure an orderly, safe and healthy work environment.
Establish and communicate engineering departmental goals to support the corporate goals and mission.

Engineering Manager Qualifications:

Engineering degree (Mechanical preferred) with P.Eng Designation.
7+ years of progressively responsible experience of which 3 years should be in a design leadership role.
A manufacturing or related field background would be considered an asset.
