Development Engineer

We are in hot pursuit to fill multiple contract Development Engineer Jobs in Calgary, AB. The ideal candidate will be a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) and have a minimum of seven years Development Engineer on oil & gas related projects. The Development Engineer will responsible developing oilsands projects from business case concept by evaluating different concepts, gaining stakeholder alignment and establishing firm basis for Front End Engineering Design (FEED), including cost and schedule estimates. This is a long-term contract position in downtown Calgary with work rotation of Monday to Friday.

Development Engineer Job Responsibilities:
• Provide engineering oversight of internal and external resources for scope development
• Work with engineers, maintenance, technicians, analysts, and operators to resolve issues
• Verify data and field check equipment and technical information to ensure accuracy of designs
• Engage with various teams to create and analyze multiple options
• Communicate with leadership to socialize concepts and gain alignment for support of strategies
• Translate and implement project development process throughout the business
• Work with other teams to comprehensively define risks and opportunities
• Develop inputs to the long-range capital plan and annual budgets

Development Engineer Job Qualifications:
• Seven years of experience as a Development Engineer on oil & gas related projects
• Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration with APEGA
• Experience in the oil industry as a development lead in projects (Owner and/or EPC)
• Experience on Front End Loading (FEL), Detail Engineering, and Execution
