The Contracts Administrator job is a full time contract position based in Northern, Alberta with our Oil and gas client. This role is in support of a major oil sands project near Fort McMurray, AB. You will have 5 -10 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas sector. PMAC certification will be considered an asset. Detailed knowledge of services and construction contracts is required along with Subcontracts experience. Camp accommodations and charter flights (from Calgary only) will be provided for this rotational schedule.

Responsibilities of the Contracts Administrator job include:

- Coordinate with client and all Subcontractors in respect to the Construction and Module Assembly Works and Services for the Project
- Provide the draft of Terms and Conditions for minor Subcontracting with Local Companies to enter the minor Subcontracts,
- Expedite Subcontractors’ Proposal and provide the Evaluation Table by close coordination with relevant functions, if required by the Construction Representatives and Project Manager
- Review, Evaluate and Draft the responses in relation to the Subcontractors’ letters, claims and/or any issues raised by Subcontractors,
- Review, Evaluate and Validate Subcontractors’ Claims and/or Change Orders relying upon Subcontract documents and governing laws
- Subject to the result of liability for specific claims or change orders, negotiate and finalize with Subcontractor for the agreeable cost and schedule impact
- Ensure that contractor is in compliance with legal requirements, owner specifications and government regulations.
- Check, monitor and expedite the preparation of required documents to be provided by Subcontractors prior to the commencement of the Works
- Assist the Construction and Module Representatives and Project Manager in the communication of the contractual and commercial aspects of the Subcontracts,
- Maintain the Subcontractors List for Potential Works and Services,
- Review, Evaluate and Validate the Subcontractor’s invoiced amount as well as Quantities with cost team’s support
- Develop reports regarding the above noted areas of analysis. The reports should include but not limited to addressing the following areas:
- Overview of all process currently in place;
- The Subcontract and Claim Status to the Construction and Module Representatives and Project Manager on a weekly basis,
- The draft the minutes of meeting after Organize, Arrange and Attend the Meeting with Subcontractors


- 5 - 10 years’ experience in Contract Administration within the Oil & Gas sector
- Post-secondary education or PMAC certification
- Background within a Buyer or Expeditor role is necessary
- Experience with forming RFPs/RFQs
- Experienced managing multiple contracts simultaneously
- Detailed understanding of different cost models: unit rate, lump sum, cost reimbursable, and time and materials.
- Detailed knowledge of services and construction contracts
- Working knowledge of contract law, regulations, and codes
- Ability to multitask
- Excellent customer relations skills (with internal and external customers)
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- A team player who can work independently
- Detail oriented
