We are currently looking for a Construction Contract Administrator for our client in the mining sector. This Construction Contract Administrator will be responsible for full contract life cycle of activities relating to the completion of this mining infrastructure project. The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years of Contract Administration experience in a construction environment, have a strong understanding of the Ontario Construction Act and the ability to balance shifting priorities. This contract role has a rotating schedule, and is based out of a full service camp (flights and camp included).
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Responsible for full contract life cycle from Pre-Award Activities to Contract Close Out Activities.
Formation RRP packages, Award & Regret letters, Various types of Contract Agreements, Commercial Evaluations, Recommendation of Award, etc.
Maintaining records and filing systems for future reference on existing and new contracts, bids, and proposals
Coordinating contractual issues with Contract Manger.
Managing the bidding process between Contractors to secure the best offers.
Ensuring contracts and other documents comply with Ontario regulations, laws, and industry standards.
Working on multiple projects while coordinating with internal team members.
Work alongside of Project Manager, Construction Manager, Engineers, and Owners team to make sure project goals are met.
Reviews requests for payment draws from Contractors and prepares payment certifications to the project owner.
Preparation of Bid documents and addenda
Reviews change orders for reasonableness of pricing and constructability.
Preparation of construction contract documents including Certificates for Payment, Change Notices/Directives/Orders, etc.
Invoice Verification - Review, analyze invoices and ensure that figures submitted by contractors are in accordance with the terms of the contract
Coordinate and lead weekly Contractor meetings.
Assist in recording and reconciling daily LEM submissions.
Responsible for generating budget approval requests (ATC’s – Authorization to Commit)
Responsible for generating change orders as required.
Responsible for Sole Source justification as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
5-8 years Contract Administration experience in a construction environment.
Experience in the mining industry is considered an asset.
Ability to work independently with little direction.
Excellent communication, problem solving and negotiation skills
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to forecast, analyze and work under pressure.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat Pro
Understanding of Ontario Construction Act is an asset
Enjoy working in a team environment
Take pride in attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and manage tight deadlines for multiple projects
Confident in communicating and working directly with Contractors & Project Team
Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities; and
Previous experience in remote job site environments.
