Chemical Engineer – New Graduates

We are currently seeking New Graduate Process/Chemical Engineers to join our Oil & Gas client Operations Support team. In this role you will be responsible for day-to-day monitoring of operations, as well as work on complex and longer-term operating programs where plant safety, reliability, and efficiency are prime objectives.

Job Location: Fort McMurray (Local candidates preferred. No camp or flights are provided)

This is a long-term contract with a working schedule of Monday – Friday, 8 hours a day

Job Responsibilities of Chemical Engineer:

  • Collect and analyze plant data and trends to understand processing limits
  • Develop improvement plans to optimize unit operation and troubleshoot process issues
  • Develop strategies for increased production, yield improvements and energy conservation
  • Support engineering solutions for operation problems
  • Job Qualifications of Chemical Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical or Process Engineering
  • 0 - 4 years of post-graduation experience
  • Registered APEGA member or qualify to register
  • Experience in the oil sands industry is considered an asset
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Must be local or willing to relocate to Fort McMurray.
  • Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to apply engineering theory in mass balance, fluid flow, and thermodynamics
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment (Climb ladders, confined spaces, etc.)
  • Strong oral and written communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and good organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office Applications essential
