We are currently seeking experienced Process/Chemical Engineers to join our Oil & Gas client Equipment Strategies development team.
Job Location: Fort McMurray (Local candidates preferred. No camp or flights are provided)
This is a long-term contract with a working schedule of Monday – Friday, 8 hours a day
Job Responsibilities of Chemical Engineer:
Support key initiatives and deliverables related to equipment strategies
Collect and analyze key process data and equipment history for high priority piping, soil to air interface piping, and fixed equipment strategies
Learn and utilize engineering systems (i.e. PI Data, PI Process Book, TDocS, Intools) to perform technical documents searches and collect process data.
Provide troubleshooting assistance to operations support personnel
Job Qualifications of Chemical Engineer:
Bachelor’s degree in chemical or Process Engineering
Minimum 4 years of post-graduation experience
Registered APEGA member or qualify to register
Experience in the oil sands industry is considered an asset
Valid Class 5 driver’s license
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to apply engineering theory in mass balance, fluid flow, and thermodynamics
Ability to work in an industrial environment (Climb ladders, confined spaces, etc.)
Strong oral and written communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
High attention to detail and good organizational skills
Strong computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office Applications essential
Working knowledge of Process Simulation Suites such as PRO II or Aspen is considered an asset.
