Senior CAD Designer Job

We are currently seeking a Senior CAD Designer for a large Aerospace client in Winnipeg, MB. The Senior CAD Designer will use their mechanical, electrical or electronic skills to help build, maintain and repair aircraft, missiles, satellites and space vehicles. They work as part of a team and might specialize in airframes or spacecraft. In design work, they use computer-aided design (CAD) systems to turn ideas into plans for new structures, or to improve existing structures. In research and development, they solve complex engineering problems caused by weight, altitude, temperature and engine performance.

Senior CAD Designer job responsibilities include:
• Conceptual layout and design - using computer-aided design (CAD) systems to turn ideas into plans for new aircraft, or to improve existing aircraft
• Design moulds, tools, dyes, jigs and fixtures for use in manufacturing processes.
• Assist in building and testing prototypes.
• Prepare project records and documents (including cost and material estimates, schedules, reports and bids) for company managers or clients.
• Conduct tests and analyze machines, parts, materials and processes to assess performance, quality and the practicality of the design.
• Conduct technical investigations and analytical studies in support of product design/development efforts.
• Responsible for the required tool designs to facilitate production processes that meet the requirements of customer drawings, models, and customer specifications in accordance with company and departmental work instructions. The function requires the use of UG/SE Cad to produce part and assembly files.
• Cad expertise may be used to support NC Programming for ancillary machine tools and for electronic review and authentication of digital data
• Coordinates the design of a suite of tooling to ensure that correct transfer of datum, tolerances and registers throughout the suite.

The Senior CAD Designer job qualifications include:

• Completion of a relevant technical course from a recognized technical college or university
• Education as above and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience (i.e. A.M.E., Cdn Forces)
• Eligibility for and membership in CTTAM or APEGM
