Asset Strategy Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer


The Asset Strategy- Electrical and Instrumentation Specialist job in Calgary, AB. is a full-time contract position with our Oil and Gas client. This position reports to the Manager, Engineering and is roughly ten (10) months in duration.

Responsibilities of the Asset Strategy-Electrical and Instrumentation Specialist job include:

- Work with master data group to create maintenance significant tag list for each project.
- Validate the asset tags in engineering documents.
- Perform criticality assessment jointly with Asset Strategy Lead, engineering specialists and CFT for each maintenance significant asset and ensure that criticality ranking is updated through the master data group.
- Develop strategy templates related to E/I assets.
- Ensure that material masters are created for identified spares and linked to SBOMs in SAP by master data group.
- Ensure that order controls are set up for all critical parts by working with master data group and SCM.
- Develop Equipment strategies in collaboration with maintenance and reliability group at site.
- Ensure that Equipment strategies are reviewed and approved by site Cross Functional Teams.
- Develop Risk based Inspection program for equipment in collaboration with fixed equipment reliability.
- Develop maintenance procedures and check sheets.
- Ensure that maintenance procedures are reviewed and approved by maintenance manager at site
- Ensure that any maintenance and reliability recommendations technical deviations and HAZOP resolutions are addressed by an ESDS and/or maintenance procedure wherever applicable.

Key Requirements:

- Hands on Maintenance experience in electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Conversant with CMMS tools- SAP, Maximo etc.
- Knowledge of Meridium and FMEA/RCM.
- P.Eng designation/registration with engineering body.
- Minimum of 10 years of working experience in oil and gas/ petrochemical/ process industry
- Should be a team player and displays positive attitude.
- Good communication skills both verbal and written.

Working Considerations:

- Calgary-based position
- Term: Approx. 10 months depending on business need
- Start date as soon as possible
- Must be able to be hired as an independent contractor
